Installation, servicing and emergency lighting for primary and secondary schools, academies, independent schools and day nurseries, done in the holidays or after the children have gone home.
Name and number are all we need to arrange a call back and a free survey.
A free site survey comes first, then a fixed written quotation. Larger buildings are priced per device.
A school fire alarm has to be heard in every classroom, hall, playground building and toilet block, and staff need to trust it. A system that faults or false alarms gets ignored, and a system out of date leaves the head and the governors exposed.
We install and service BS 5839-1 fire alarm systems in schools and academies and fire alarm and smoke detection in day nurseries across London. We plan the noisy work for the holidays, half terms or after school, test the emergency lighting on the same visit, and leave the certificates your fire risk assessor, insurer and inspectors ask for.

We do installs and sounder tests in the holidays, at half term or after school, so lessons are not interrupted and children are not alarmed.
We check that the alarm can be heard, or seen, in every space, including halls, toilets, music rooms and outbuildings that are easy to miss.
If the panel is old but the budget is tight, we can plan a staged upgrade over more than one financial year, with a fixed price for each stage.
Certificates on the day, a complete logbook and a plain list of defects with prices, ready for governors, the trust and your insurer.
The category of system is set by the fire risk assessment, and for new school buildings the design guidance in Building Bulletin 100 applies. In practice most schools have a panel system covering every room, with manual call points at the exits and sounders throughout. Kitchens, science labs and changing rooms need detector types that will not false alarm from heat, fumes and steam.
We service school systems every six months and test the emergency lighting once a year. Servicing is from £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, and the annual emergency lighting test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger sites are priced after a free survey.
The Early Years Foundation Stage framework expects nurseries to have fire detection and control equipment that is in working order, and Ofsted can ask about it. Nurseries in converted houses often need an upgrade from domestic smoke alarms to a proper system as they grow. We survey, recommend the right system for the building and the number of children, and service it so it stays in date.
Yes. We are happy to book both visits in the holidays or at half term, or after school if that suits better. Emergency lighting can be tested on the same visit.
At least every six months to BS 5839-1, with a weekly call point test by the site team and an annual full-duration emergency lighting test.
Not always. If the wiring is sound we can often replace the panel and devices while reusing the cables, and the work can be staged across more than one budget year. We survey and give a fixed price for each option.
Nurseries need fire detection that suits the building and the number of children, kept in working order. In a converted house that often means more than domestic smoke alarms. We survey and recommend what the building needs.
New systems start from £1,200 + VAT for a small building. Schools are priced per device after a free survey, with a fixed written quotation.
Tell us about the building and we will call you back to book a free, no-obligation survey. You get a fixed written quote after every visit.
