The BS 5839 fire alarm certificate and the BS 5266 emergency lighting certificate, both issued on the day of the service. From £180 + VAT a visit.
Name and number are all we need to arrange a call back and a free survey.
A free site survey comes first, then a fixed written quotation. Larger buildings are priced per device.
A fire alarm certificate is the signed record that a competent engineer inspected and tested your system. It is what your insurer, fire risk assessor, licensing officer or the fire service will ask to see.
We service fire alarm systems across London to BS 5839-1 and BS 5839-6 and issue the certificate on the day, with a written record of every device tested. If the system has faults, we tell you what they are and what it costs to put right, and certify it once it passes.

Your insurer and your fire risk assessment rely on a current certificate. We service the system every six months and the certificate goes on file the same day.
Most London councils ask HMO landlords for current fire alarm and emergency lighting certificates, and a letting agent will want them on file before a tenancy starts.
Communal fire alarm and emergency lighting certificates for every block, sent straight to the agent, with one contractor and one invoice per building.
A certificate is only good until the next service is due. We keep the schedule and remind you before each visit, so there is always a current one on file.
Run through the quick check, or see fire alarm servicing for what happens on a service visit.
Usually it means the inspection and servicing certificate from BS 5839-1: the engineer's signed record that the system was inspected and tested on that date, with any faults found. A new system also has design, installation and commissioning certificates, and a changed system has a modification certificate.
There is no fixed expiry printed on it, but BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months, so in practice a certificate older than six months is out of date. For HMOs and rented homes with a BS 5839-6 system, an annual check is the usual expectation.
The certificate comes with the service. A service is from £180 + VAT for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, and the certificate is issued on the day. If the system has faults, we quote for the repairs first and certify once it passes.
If the building has emergency lighting, yes. It needs a full-duration test every year under BS 5266-1 and has its own certificate. We test it in the same visit as the fire alarm, from £150 + VAT, and issue both certificates on the day.
Anyone responsible for a building with a fire alarm system: business owners and employers, landlords and HMO licence holders, managing agents and freeholders of blocks, schools, care homes and places of worship. Insurers, fire risk assessors, licensing officers and the fire service can all ask to see it.
If the system was serviced recently, the contractor who did it can reissue it. If you cannot get it, or it is more than six months old, the quickest answer is a full service visit and a new certificate.
Tell us about the building and we will call you back to book a free, no-obligation survey. You get a fixed written quote after every visit.
