A fire alarm needs a service every six months and emergency lighting a full test every year. If either is due, or nobody is quite sure when it was last done, we will bring both back into date and keep them there.
Name and number are all we need to arrange a call back and a free survey.
A free site survey comes first, then a fixed written quotation. Larger buildings are priced per device.
Fire alarm servicing slips because nobody is tracking it. The previous contractor stops coming, a manager leaves, a building changes hands, and the first anyone hears of it is when the insurer or the fire risk assessor asks for the certificate.
We service fire alarms across London to BS 5839-1 every six months and test emergency lighting to BS 5266-1 in the same visit, with the certificates issued on the day. If your servicing has lapsed we test everything, put right anything that has failed, and then keep you on a schedule with a reminder before each visit.

If the fire alarm service or the emergency lighting test has lapsed, one visit puts both right. We test everything, tell you plainly about anything that has failed, and issue the certificates once it passes.
We hold the schedule, not you. We contact you before each six-monthly visit is due, so the certificate never quietly runs out again.
You do not need to have bought the system from us. We service and repair systems installed by any company, conventional and addressable.
Insurers, fire risk assessors, licensing officers and the fire service all ask for the certificate. It is far easier to have it ready than to arrange a visit after the question.
Any gap in that list usually means the service is overdue or the paperwork has gone missing. Either way the answer is the same: a full service visit, a written record of what was tested, and a new certificate.
Looking for the certificate itself? See fire alarm certificates, or servicing contracts if you look after several buildings.
Look at the date on the last fire alarm certificate or the last entry by an engineer in the logbook. BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months, so if the last one is more than six months old, it is due. Some panels also show a 'service due' message when the interval has passed.
The system may still work, but you cannot show that it does. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained, an insurer can question a claim where servicing has lapsed, a fire risk assessor will record it as an action, and for a licensed HMO the council can ask for the certificate at any time.
Yes. Emergency lighting needs a quick monthly test by you and a full-duration test every year under BS 5266-1. We do the annual test in the same visit as the fire alarm service, from £150 + VAT, and issue its own certificate on the day.
Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our servicing schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.
From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. Emergency lighting can be tested in the same visit from £150 + VAT. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.
A typical shop, office, surgery or small block takes one to two hours. We test a share of the devices each visit so that every one is covered across the year, and we agree with you when the sounders will go off, so you do not need to close.
Tell us about the building and we will call you back to book a free, no-obligation survey. You get a fixed written quote after every visit.
