Fire alarms we service in Wimbledon

Wimbledon has period houses and mansion flats near the Common and the Village, converted flats and house shares in South Wimbledon, and a busy commercial centre around The Broadway and the shopping centre, with restaurants, bars and offices above shops. Period buildings often have older wireless or conventional systems that need care to keep, not replacing. We service any make, including wireless systems, test the radio signal strength to each device and change the batteries on schedule, so a dead battery never becomes a dead detector.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does fire alarm servicing cost in Wimbledon?

From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. If you have emergency lighting, its annual test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.

How often does a fire alarm need servicing?

BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months for commercial systems and the common parts of blocks of flats. For BS 5839-6 systems in HMOs and rented homes an annual check is the usual expectation, and Grade A panel systems follow the six-monthly pattern.

Do you service fire alarms installed by other companies?

Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.

What do we get after the visit?

A signed certificate, a written record of what was tested, the logbook brought up to date, and a list of anything that failed with a fixed price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your say-so.

We have a wireless fire alarm in a listed building in Wimbledon Village. Can you service it?

Yes. Wireless systems need the same six-monthly service as wired ones, plus checks on signal strength and device batteries. We service the common wireless makes, replace batteries on schedule and keep the system running without chasing new cables through period walls.
