Fire alarms we service in Clapham
Clapham is a few minutes from our office. The High Street and Clapham Old Town are full of bars, restaurants and gyms, many with flats above sharing an escape route, which makes the fire alarm in the commercial part important to the people upstairs too. Behind them are streets of converted Victorian houses, many of them shared houses licensed by the council. We service both kinds, and for mixed buildings we check that the alarm in the shop and the alarm in the flats work together the way the fire risk assessment expects.

Frequently asked questions
How much does fire alarm servicing cost in Clapham?
From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. If you have emergency lighting, its annual test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.
How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months for commercial systems and the common parts of blocks of flats. For BS 5839-6 systems in HMOs and rented homes an annual check is the usual expectation, and Grade A panel systems follow the six-monthly pattern.
Do you service fire alarms installed by other companies?
Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.
What do we get after the visit?
A signed certificate, a written record of what was tested, the logbook brought up to date, and a list of anything that failed with a fixed price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your say-so.
We have a restaurant with flats above in Clapham. Who services which fire alarm?
It depends on how the building is set up, which the fire risk assessment should say. Often there is one system covering both, or two systems linked together. We can service both on one visit, test that they talk to each other properly and leave a certificate for each part.
