Fire alarms we service in Southwark
Southwark has offices and restaurants around Borough Market and Bankside, workshops and bars in the Bermondsey railway arches, shops and flats along Rye Lane in Peckham, and large residential schemes at Elephant and Castle and Canada Water. The arches are a particular case: damp, dust and vehicles make detectors fault, and the right detector type matters. In the big residential schemes the communal system is often addressable with hundreds of devices, so we plan the testing so every device is covered across the year.

Frequently asked questions
How much does fire alarm servicing cost in Southwark?
From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. If you have emergency lighting, its annual test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.
How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months for commercial systems and the common parts of blocks of flats. For BS 5839-6 systems in HMOs and rented homes an annual check is the usual expectation, and Grade A panel systems follow the six-monthly pattern.
Do you service fire alarms installed by other companies?
Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.
What do we get after the visit?
A signed certificate, a written record of what was tested, the logbook brought up to date, and a list of anything that failed with a fixed price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your say-so.
We are in a railway arch in Bermondsey. Why does our fire alarm keep faulting?
Arches are damp and dusty and often have vehicles inside, which is hard on detectors and wiring. On the service we find the faulty devices and the cause, then recommend the right detector type for the space, such as heat detectors where fumes are expected, at a fixed price.
