Fire alarms we service in City of London
City office buildings usually have large addressable systems with cause and effect linked to access control, lifts, smoke control and an alarm receiving centre. A proper service tests a planned share of the devices every visit and checks every one of those links, which is easier to do out of hours. We also service the conventional panels in smaller offices, pubs and restaurants around Fleet Street, Farringdon and Aldgate, and the communal systems in the Barbican area and newer residential towers. Certificates go to the building manager and each tenant who needs one.

Frequently asked questions
How much does fire alarm servicing cost in City of London?
From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. If you have emergency lighting, its annual test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.
How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months for commercial systems and the common parts of blocks of flats. For BS 5839-6 systems in HMOs and rented homes an annual check is the usual expectation, and Grade A panel systems follow the six-monthly pattern.
Do you service fire alarms installed by other companies?
Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.
What do we get after the visit?
A signed certificate, a written record of what was tested, the logbook brought up to date, and a list of anything that failed with a fixed price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your say-so.
Our City office has just been fitted out. Does the fire alarm need checking?
Yes. A fit-out usually moves or adds devices and changes the cause and effect. The system should be recommissioned and a modification certificate issued, and the next service should confirm everything works as the fire strategy says. We can do both.
