Fire alarms we service in Richmond upon Thames
Much of Richmond is old: listed shops and houses in the town centre and on the riverside, pubs that have stood for a century or more, converted flats in large Victorian houses, and churches and halls used by the community. Older buildings tend to have mixed systems that have been added to over the years, sometimes with more than one make of device. We service what is there, label and record the zones properly if nobody has, and tell you plainly when a part can no longer be repaired.

Frequently asked questions
How much does fire alarm servicing cost in Richmond upon Thames?
From £180 + VAT a visit for a conventional system and £240 + VAT for an addressable system, with the certificate issued on the day. If you have emergency lighting, its annual test is £150 + VAT on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey.
How often does a fire alarm need servicing?
BS 5839-1 recommends a service at least every six months for commercial systems and the common parts of blocks of flats. For BS 5839-6 systems in HMOs and rented homes an annual check is the usual expectation, and Grade A panel systems follow the six-monthly pattern.
Do you service fire alarms installed by other companies?
Yes. Most of the systems we service were installed by someone else. We test what is there, report its condition honestly and take it onto our schedule. Nothing that works needs replacing.
What do we get after the visit?
A signed certificate, a written record of what was tested, the logbook brought up to date, and a list of anything that failed with a fixed price to put it right. Nothing is repaired without your say-so.
Our Richmond pub has an old fire alarm panel. Can you keep it going?
Usually, if it still works and spares exist. We service it every six months and repair faults with compatible parts. If a part is no longer made, we explain the options, from like-for-like replacement of the panel to a staged upgrade, with a fixed price for each.
