Emergency lighting in Lambeth
Lambeth's bars, clubs and music venues need maintained emergency lighting that stays lit while the public are in, and escape signs that can be seen in the dark and in smoke. The blocks of flats need it on every stair and corridor, and the shops and offices along Streatham High Road need it on their escape routes. We test each kind, check maintained fittings stay lit on battery for the full duration, and replace dead fittings and missing signs.

Frequently asked questions
How much does emergency lighting testing cost in Lambeth?
The annual full-duration test is from £150 + VAT with a certificate. If we service your fire alarm, we do both on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey, and repairs are quoted at a fixed price first.
How often does emergency lighting need testing?
A short function test every month, normally done by someone on site and written in the logbook, and a full rated-duration test once a year by a competent person, as BS 5266-1 and BS EN 50172 set out.
Can you test the emergency lighting and service the fire alarm together?
Yes, and most customers prefer it: one visit, one contractor and both certificates on the day. Emergency lighting is part of every servicing contract we offer.
What happens if fittings fail the test?
We replace failed batteries and lamps on the day where we can. Anything else, such as a whole fitting or a missing sign, comes back to you as a fixed price before we do it.
What is maintained emergency lighting and does our bar need it?
Maintained fittings stay lit all the time and keep going on battery when the power fails. They are normally needed where the public gather in low light, such as bars, clubs and venues. We check which fittings should be maintained on the annual test.
