Emergency lighting in Bromley
Many Bromley buildings with emergency lighting are used at odd hours: church halls hired out in the evening, schools with after-school clubs, care homes that never close. That makes the timing of the full three-hour test important, because the fittings need time to recharge afterwards. We plan the test around how the building is used, record every fitting and replace failed batteries and fittings on the day where we can.

Frequently asked questions
How much does emergency lighting testing cost in Bromley?
The annual full-duration test is from £150 + VAT with a certificate. If we service your fire alarm, we do both on the same visit. Larger buildings are priced after a free survey, and repairs are quoted at a fixed price first.
How often does emergency lighting need testing?
A short function test every month, normally done by someone on site and written in the logbook, and a full rated-duration test once a year by a competent person, as BS 5266-1 and BS EN 50172 set out.
Can you test the emergency lighting and service the fire alarm together?
Yes, and most customers prefer it: one visit, one contractor and both certificates on the day. Emergency lighting is part of every servicing contract we offer.
What happens if fittings fail the test?
We replace failed batteries and lamps on the day where we can. Anything else, such as a whole fitting or a missing sign, comes back to you as a fixed price before we do it.
Can you test the emergency lighting in our care home without leaving residents at risk?
Yes. We test in sections, so part of the system is always charged, and plan the full-duration test for the daytime, leaving the fittings to recharge before night. Staff are told which areas are being tested and when.
